Why Social Impact Matters to Me

As the daughter of immigrants and a lifelong advocate for equity, I believe every young person—no matter where they’re born—deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. My commitment to educational equity is deeply personal. My mother, a Jamaican immigrant and lifelong educator, instilled in me a love for reading, a reverence for knowledge, and a deep understanding of education as a pathway to opportunity. I’ve seen firsthand how access to education can transform the trajectory of an individual, a family, and an entire community.

For over a decade, I’ve also dedicated my time to pro bono service—partnering with organizations like the Taproot Foundation to deliver skills-based consulting and strategic guidance to mission-driven nonprofits. Even while managing demanding roles in the private sector, I’ve found purpose in giving back. It has kept me grounded and reminded me that to whom much is given, much is expected.

That’s why I continue to use my voice, skills, and platform to help dismantle barriers and uplift the next generation—especially girls in under-resourced regions.

Driving Impact Beyond the Boardroom

📚 Advancing Educational Equity with Tanzania Development Support

Tanzania Development Support (TDS) is dedicated to sustainable, community-led educational programs that uplift youth—especially girls—in rural Tanzania.

At Red Hills Consulting Group, social impact isn’t a side note—it’s part of the mission. As a Board Member and Program and Evaluation Committee Chair for Tanzania Development Support (TDS), I’m proud to help advance educational equity for girls in rural Tanzania.

Through strategy, storytelling, and impact, I work alongside incredible leaders to build sustainable programs that empower youth and strengthen communities. Below are highlights from my partnership with TDS, including blog features and leadership interviews. Additional reflections and updates will be shared over time.
